My little fishy

April 03, 2017 by Briana Smith in Swimsuit Season, Fashion, Baby Girl Fashion

How is everyone? Are you all enjoying this wonderful time of year? I know I am.

Kody, Ellie and I  love to be outside and in the sun. Ellie is our little fishy. She would  stay in the pool all day everyday if  we would let her Kody and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We want her to grow up enjoying the outdoors.

With that being said, Ellie has recently found a new obsession, watching Frozen on the IPad. Kody and I never thought electronics would become a problem until this past week. All Ellie wanted to do was lay in the bed and watch Frozen. It was cute the first few days, then we realized it was starting to become habit.  Kody and I freaked a little haha don’t  judge, first time parents  remember;) So, we did a little Frozen detox lol. We all went to the store and bought  sidewalk chalk, a trike  and other items we could play with outside. We went two days with no movies or Ipads, then gradually brought Frozen back into her life. She now watches it in the morning when she wakes  up. I then try to have activities for her during the day to keep her busy.

I know it’s silly but it really did catch Kody and I off guard. We didn’t realize how easy it was just to hand her the Ipad and have her watch Frozen for hours. Kody and I were able to get our work done and even keep the house clean, but we  both agreed that interacting with her is more important than anything. Kody and I also decided to set hours for us to use our electronics. We realized we were being poor examples by having our faces glued to our screens all day. Now we look at our phones while she is sleeping.

What activities do you like to do with your kids? Indoor and outdoor, I need suggestions! Comment below with your ideas!

I can't end this post with out talking about our swimsuits. My suit from @naniswimwear is a fave! It is perfect for everyday swimming. I am obsessed with the tops pattern and racerback.

Ellie's First Birthday.. A Birthday to be Remembered

November 17, 2016 by Briana Smith in Baby Girl Fashion

Wow, yesterday was definitely a birthday to remember.

Planning Ellie’s first birthday party is something I have been looking forward to since she was born. I love planning parties, especially when it’s for my baby girl.

Tuesday night I was feeling accomplished. The invitations were sent, decorations set up, and food was made. Kody and I were all ready to celebrate Ellie’s birthday. I couldn't wait to have the perfect day with my princess.

Ellie woke up and was in shock as we walked downstairs into the transformed kitchen and living area. She was so excited to see unicorns, banners and sparkles everywhere she looked.

Ellie and I were having the best morning, eating breakfast and playing with her toys. We went upstairs to get dressed. Ellie was walking with her favorite blanky when her toes got tangled and she smashed her head on the edge of our bed. I grabbed and held her as fast as I could. I didn't dare look at her face because I was scared with what I would see. I finally pulled her away and look at her face dripping with blood. It was so aweful! I ran and grabbed a wet was cloth and held it on her head to stop the bleeding. My mother in law picked Ellie and I up and we went to the hospital where we met Kody. All the nurses in the Doctor's office were shocked at how happy she was right after her accident. The nurses took her in and the Doctor decided that stitches wouldn’t be necessary, gluing it back together would be the best option. (Thankfully!)

After the traumatic experience we drove back to the house and got ready for her party. She was as happy as ever throughout the rest of the day. I honestly feel like she knew the day was all about her, so she knew she had to be happy lol.

My mom and mother-in-law came and helped me finalize the decorations and food. We were then ready for the party to start!

Ellie had so many friends and family members come to celebrate her special day. It was the best night. Kody and I were proud parents watching her prance around, open presents and eating her birthday cake. She looked absolutely adorable in her Party Dress and Unicorn Crown. Her outfit was the hit of the party!

Ellie’s first birthday is definitely one we will never forget.

6 Months

May 16, 2016 by Briana Smith in Baby Girl Fashion

How can Ellie be six months old? She is growing up so fast. It is fun to see her grow and reach milestones but I miss my newborn! Time needs to slow down.

Ellie is so funny and loves to entertain (just like her dad). She has to be the center of attention at all times. It is cute, but frustrating at times when I need to get work done! Literally, the second I look at my computer she does this fake cough. I don’t know how she learned this, but the past three months she coughs when she wants attention. If her cough doesn’t get attention, she then screams. Let’s just say she is an extremely spoiled child!

Ellie is growing everyday. She is in the 90th percentile for height and 30th percentile for weight. The doctor said she is tall and skinny.

Kody and I have so much love for our sweet baby girl. She is sitting up all by herself, rolls over from both sides and is getting up on all fours to crawl. We put her in a jumper last month and she has been obsessed ever since. She jumps and jumps all day. Her favorite thing is to be in the jumper while her dancing cabbage patch doll is dancing in front of her. It is hilarious to watch, as Ellie tries to mimic the dolls moves. As soon as the cabbage patch doll stops singing/dancing Ellie screams. So,, every 30 seconds I have to stop what I am doing, push the button and make the doll dance and sing again.. I’m such a first time mom!

Kody and I introduced “real” food to Ellie at 5 1/2 months. Her first food (besides rice cereal) was an avocado. It was hilarious to watch her eat! She was a green monster by the end. She’s loved every food we have given her. We have introduced veggies first, hoping to get her an acquired taste for vegetables before introducing fruits. I was super picky and hated vegetables growing up, so I am trying to implement a variety of tastes and textures while she is young! Crossing my fingers that this will help her like a wide range of foods as she matures.

Ellie is an outside girl. She loves to be outside and watch birds while she plays with the grass. She also loves going on walks. Pretty sure she would stay outside all day if she had her way.

Ellie is just a delight! Kody and I feel so blessed to have her as our daughter. She has brought us so much happiness.

Ellie and El & El →

April 04, 2016 by Briana Smith

Truth be told, I struggle when it comes to styling Ellie’s hair. Her hair is usually out of control. (I struggle when it comes to styling my own hair, let alone a four month old!!) Basically, this headband is a lifesaver. I put it on her head and it instantly makes her hair look cute:) It is a miracle worker!

This headband matches and completes every outfit that we put it with. It is made from a soft nylon material, which allows her to wear it all day. Ellie's headband is from one of my favorite baby shops El & El. Their handmade bows and headbands are high quality and affordable! What more could you ask for?

You need to head over to to elandelshop.com to find this headband and much more! If you use the code "briana" at checkout you will receive 30% off your entire purchase! You do not want to miss out on a deal like this. Offer ends Thursday, head there now!

Our first attempt back at church (not counting Ellie's blessing day). Kody and I were nervous but Ellie did really well.

It was fun to dress Ellie up in this adorable dress. She looked cute as always! We were proud parents walking into church with this little doll.

Oh and don't mind Ellie's wild hair.. It was tame at one point in time haha.

This skirt made me a fan of the color emerald green. This skirt is so unique. I could not pass it up.
