Ellie's First Birthday.. A Birthday to be Remembered

November 17, 2016 by Briana Smith in Baby Girl Fashion

Wow, yesterday was definitely a birthday to remember.

Planning Ellie’s first birthday party is something I have been looking forward to since she was born. I love planning parties, especially when it’s for my baby girl.

Tuesday night I was feeling accomplished. The invitations were sent, decorations set up, and food was made. Kody and I were all ready to celebrate Ellie’s birthday. I couldn't wait to have the perfect day with my princess.

Ellie woke up and was in shock as we walked downstairs into the transformed kitchen and living area. She was so excited to see unicorns, banners and sparkles everywhere she looked.

Ellie and I were having the best morning, eating breakfast and playing with her toys. We went upstairs to get dressed. Ellie was walking with her favorite blanky when her toes got tangled and she smashed her head on the edge of our bed. I grabbed and held her as fast as I could. I didn't dare look at her face because I was scared with what I would see. I finally pulled her away and look at her face dripping with blood. It was so aweful! I ran and grabbed a wet was cloth and held it on her head to stop the bleeding. My mother in law picked Ellie and I up and we went to the hospital where we met Kody. All the nurses in the Doctor's office were shocked at how happy she was right after her accident. The nurses took her in and the Doctor decided that stitches wouldn’t be necessary, gluing it back together would be the best option. (Thankfully!)

After the traumatic experience we drove back to the house and got ready for her party. She was as happy as ever throughout the rest of the day. I honestly feel like she knew the day was all about her, so she knew she had to be happy lol.

My mom and mother-in-law came and helped me finalize the decorations and food. We were then ready for the party to start!

Ellie had so many friends and family members come to celebrate her special day. It was the best night. Kody and I were proud parents watching her prance around, open presents and eating her birthday cake. She looked absolutely adorable in her Party Dress and Unicorn Crown. Her outfit was the hit of the party!

Ellie’s first birthday is definitely one we will never forget.

Beach Cottage-All Moved In

August 23, 2016 by Briana Smith in Baby Girl Fashion

Hey Everyone! I hope this post finds you well.

Today’s post is a home tour of the beach cottage Kody, Ellie and I are currently living in. My in-laws built this cottage as a fun place for there kids and grand kids to stay in while they visit. Kody, Ellie and I somehow talked them into letting us live in the cottage until December, when we move back to St. George.

Kody and his dad has worked on this cottage for the past 4 years. It was a vacant lot covered in reeds, trees, shrubs, and grass. They have spent the past four winters digging out the shrubs and clay. Kody’s parents conveniently own a construction business. They were able to use their equipment to dig out the shrubs, make and lay their cement, as well as make their own beach sand. It’s been neat to see their hard work pay off. The cottage is literally a dream. Kody and I feel like we are on vacation every morning when we wake up to the view. The view itself is phenomenal.

My mother-in-law designed and decorated the entire cottage. She needs to be an interior designer. She is so talented. The colors and style all tie in perfectly. The floors look like wood but are actually tile. She didn’t want to worry about wood floor or carpet getting damaged by the sand and water, so she went with this option. We love it! The floors are extremely easy to clean and I don’t have to worry about them getting water damage or scratched.

Ellie’s room is darling. It is simple, vintage, and girly. The vanity is Ellie’s, great, great grandma Nelda’s. It is Ellie’s favorite part of the entire house. She loves standing up and singing to herself in the mirror. It’s adorable. Ellie’s pink and grey bow/headband organizer is from The Painted Plank. It adds such a cute touch to her room. It is so nice to have all of her hair accessories organized. If you have a little girl I definitely suggest checking out The Painted Plank Etsy shop and following them on Instagram @thepaintedplank. Their organizers are so adorable!

I hope you enjoyed the tour of our beach cottage. Kody, Ellie and I are having the time of our life living in Delta at the reservoir. There’s something about a small town in the country that we can’t get enough of. We must have country in our blood;)

8 Months

July 14, 2016 by Briana Smith in Baby Girl Fashion

Another month has come and gone. I am having a hard time facing the fact that my baby is eight months old.

Ellie has grown up so much this past month.  I look at her and do not see my newborn. She is crawling all over, pulling herself up on chairs, jabbering, making funny noises with her mouth and dancing to every song that comes on. She is so full of life and is the center of attention wherever we go.

Ellie is such a joy, even though she does not seep sleep through the night… Obviously she took after Kody and does not like to sleep. I would give anything for a solid six hours of sleep! Any tips on how to get your baby to sleep through the night? I’m desperate and sleep deprived, so any help is greatly appreciated!;)

So.. how adorable is Ellie’s outfit?! It is my favorite to date! She looks like a living doll. I’m so obsessed with it. The lace up crop top sends me over the edge! It literally does not get cuter than this. This outfit came from Grace & Amelia Co. Their clothing is extremely high quality, unique and adorable! I’ve been extremely impressed with how durable their clothing is. I definitely recommend checking out their cute shop and following them on Instagram @graceandameliaco.

I hope you are all having a fabulous week!

7 Month Old Diva

June 15, 2016 by Briana Smith in Baby Girl Fashion

Motherhood is seriously the best! I love having a baby girl I can dress up and take pictures of! It’s like having a living doll haha. Ellie is such a ham too. Every time the camera comes out she starts to laugh and pose. She is the perfect model;)

When I put Ellie in this crop top from Three Sweet Peaches I about died! She looked so dang cute. I couldn't even handle it! I thought of every errand I could run just to show her off.

Ellie is growing up so fast. Every stage becomes my favorite. She is extremely hyper and fun! She is very interactive and loves to be the center of attention. Kody is always greeted home from work with a big smile, scream of excitement and arms and legs moving as fast as they can.

Ellie is officially a jabber jaws. Unfortunately her first word was dada.. I wanted to be bugged but it was so cute I couldn't help but smile:) Since then, she has said papa and mama (well I think it sounded like mama;). Ellie is about to crawl. She is just having a hard time picking up those hands to move. She rolls all around and grabs everything in sight. Bath time is her favorite part of the day. She loves splashing and playing in the water.

I feel so blessed to be the mother to this beautiful girl. Although motherhood is extremely hard, moments like this make every sleepless night worth while.
