First off, I must say, if you are pregnant you need to get maternity photos!

I understand if you are skeptical because I was too. However, I am so happy I did!

Pregnancy is such a unique time in a woman's life. Some say it is the most beautiful experience, where others say it’s miserable.

My pregnancy definitely had it’s highs and lows. To be honest, the first few months were miserable.

When I first found out I was pregnant I was trying to graduate and starting a new job. This is all while being extremely sick and exhausted. I was nauseous and had terrible "morning sickness” which was “all day” sickness for me.

During the first few months nothing sounded appetizing, and when I would eat it would come right back up.

It was not pleasant..

After the first trimester my nausea settled down and I felt rejuvenated. The second trimester I had energy and was no longer throwing up. I loved this time of pregnancy! The only thing I had to complain about was feeling chubby. I was in that awkward, is she or is she not pregnant for a while.

During the second trimester I was able to workout, complete my daily tasks, and work everyday. I even ran a 5k at 27 weeks!

Pregnancy was amazing for this short time!

Once the third trimester started the “morning/all day” sickness came back. I was once again, miserable. I suddenly lost all energy and felt like I was back to square one.

As her due date came closer Kody and I became more and more anxious. We got the nursery ready, packed our hospital bag, put the car seat in our car, deep cleaned both vehicles and our house. (We were completely ready for her at 38 weeks). I was hoping she would come any day...

39 weeks roll along and I had my last day in the office before maternity leave. I thought for sure she would come a week early. Well to my surprise she didn’t. She didn't even come on her due date! I had to wait 8 more days until I was induced at 41 weeks.

Ellie was born November 16, 2015.

Kody and I were thrilled. Delivering Ellie was the most spiritual and amazing experience. We were so blessed to have a smooth and almost "easy" delivery.

At the start of pregnancy I sometimes wondered why people said pregnancy was “beautiful” but after delivering Ellie, I completely understood.
